Ahead of the New York Auto Show, Acura has released just two images of a concept vehicle it will have on display. And thanks to the folks at AcuraZine we have three more (significantly more revealing) photos of the car… or should we say SUV.

Stealing a page directly out of the BMW design book, this new CUV looks like a serious copycat of the BMW X6 – especially with that sloping rear and mild tail on the trunk. Speculation on other details about the vehicle is endless. For starters, will it have a V8 powerplant. Will it use Acura’s SH-AWD technology?

One thing that may be clearer, is the name. The test-mule has been caught at the Nürburgring wearing badging that says MSX.

Acura is looking to expand its lineup of vehicles in the near future as it recently announced plans to become a Tier 1 competitor to German luxury rivals. That being said, this seems like a strange direction to take as any sporty SUV would certainly be a niche market vehicle and Acura continues to lack a coupe in its lineup, let alone a V8 powerplant.
