Famed Japanese tuner Tommy Kaira did not disappoint with the public debut of its “Silver Wolf Edition Ebbrezza-R” kit for the Nissan GT-R. As many of the factory panels as possible were replaced with carbon fiber, including on the interior where an array of dry carbon parts are used.

Outside, a new aero kit includes a redesigned front bumper with a large lip extension, side skirts, rear fender flares, a large rear spoiler and wild rear diffuser. Inside the fenders can be found 20-inch Advan AVS Model F15 wheels in a Platinum Black finish wrapped with Pirelli P-Zeros.

Tommy Kaira promised a wild design and plenty of carbon fiber and certainly delivered.

We have been following the ASI Ferrari F430 design since its initial concept stages and we were excited to finally spot a finished product in person. ASI is famous for some very wild creations, includig a matte-white widebody Bentley Continental GT, which debuted at the SEMA Show several years back.

Unveiled in the Forgiato booth at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon, the ASI Ferrari F430 is certainly more impressive in person than in any photos we’ve seen up until now. The aggressive yet clean styling further accents the already curvaceous lines of the Ferrari F430, while some of the more wild parts of the aero kit lend a race car-like feel to the car. Plus, there’s a nice set of Scuderia stripes to add to the package.

With the F458 Italia on the horizon, believe it or not, the F430 will soon begin to look dated and so tuners like ASI are eager to produce parts that will help owners stand out – for better or worse.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2010: G’s Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept

Toyota shows off another FT-86 Concept

Toyota has recently announced its G Sports conversion car series that will be sold through Toyota-brand dealers in Japan throughout 2010. These G’s series vehicles are designed for owners interested in having a unique vehicle and several of them took center stage at Toyota’s booth at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon. We have heard plenty about Toyota’s FT-86 and the company’s G’s version stole the show. Dozens gathered around the car during exclusive media hours in order to see it up close and personal. Plenty of carbon fiber accents can be seen on this extremely stylish and polished design, making this FT-86 Concept even more impressive than the original.

Along with the standard carbon fiber goodies, there’s a vented carbon fiber hood and a massive rear spoiler. We also noticed an aggressive new exhaust setup.

With this concept Toyota continues to build interest in the FT-86, which is believed will head to production shortly. The car is rumored to be powered by a 2.0-liter Subaru boxer engine with Toyota heads, delivering around 200-hp. Toyota is hoping this model will be a hit with enthusiasts, tuners and help get a younger demographic into its showrooms.

BuickEnclaveReveal06.jpg

General Motors is asking Tiger Woods for its cars back, after an agreement with the golf star ended two weeks ago. A contract between Woods and GM’s Buick brand expired in 2008, but the controversial golfer was allowed access to GM products, including the Cadillac Escalade SUV that he so famously crashed in his Florida neighborhood. A clause in the contract that allowed him access to those vehicles expired on December 31st.

The Escalade, which also had its windows smashed by Woods’ wife Elin Nordegren, will reportedly be fixed and sold. Woods also reportedly has a Buick Enclave (which he is shown posing next to, above) for personal use.

Since the Tiger Woods scandal first broke, numerous sponsors have separated themselves from the world’s richest golfer including AT&T, Accenture and Gillette, while Tag Heuer is limiting its use of Woods in their ads, while Gatorade has put a hault on a special line of Tiger Woods-branded drinks.

Nissan has confirmed that after missing out on a long list of auto shows, it is preparing for the New York Auto Show in late March. The company is launching eight new models in the next 12 months and has announced that the new QX56 full-sized luxury SUV (pictured in spy photos above) from the brand’s Infiniti arm will bow at the Big Apple show.

This will also be the first time Infiniti will show the all-new M37 and M56, as well as the facelifted 2010 Infinti G37. There is even a strong possibility that the new G25 model, powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter V6, will arrive in New York.

Nissan is expected to showcase new products as well, likely showing the Juke compact crossover, that will first debut at the Geneva Auto Show in early March.

2009 ford f150 xlt 02

Ford is set to completely revamp its truck lineup with new fuel-efficient engines, offering not only an optional EcoBoost V6, but also a V6 as the base engine. According to a report by PickupTrucks.com, the Lincoln 3.7-liter V6 that recently made its way into the base Mustang will also come standard in the F-150.

In the Mustang, the V6 engine makes 305-hp and 280 ft-lbs of torque, plenty more horsepower and only slightly less torque than the current base 4.6-liter V8 with 248-hp and 294 ft-lbs. And with a few minor tweaks, Ford could easily tone down the power and up the torque a few ticks.

The new 3.7-liter V6 is likely to be offered in XL and STX models, although it may also be offered in XLT trim. While not a cheap engine to produce with its high-tech twin variable valve timing, Ford’s continued use of this engine in more and more models will certainly help reduce production costs across the board.

In addition, this new engine would vastly improve the F-150′s fuel economy, as the new engine makes as much as 30-mpg highway in the Mustang.

Ford stopped offering a V6 in the F-150 in 2009, but now its set to return by 2012.

With a new version of the 5 Series now headed to dealerships, BMW is preparing to launch the all-new M5, with the super saloon likely to debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March. According to a report in CAR Magazine, they have all the deets on the 2011 F10 model.

As expected, power will come from the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that’s found under the hood of the X5 M and X6 M. Making 555-hp in those versions, BMW’s M division has reportedly tweaked the V8′s output further to produce an incredible 578-hp and 530 ft-lbs of torque. That’s a solid 150 more ft-lbs of torque than the outgoing model and knowing the twin-turbo application, it’s likely to come on almost twice as early as the high-strung V10.

As a result, the M5 should be able to clear 62 mph in roughly 4.4 seconds.

The new engine is also expected to be roughly 30 percent more fuel-efficient than the old V10, which really shouldn’t be all that hard, knowing how gas-hungry the V10 was.

Additional efficient dynamics items like brake regeneration technology and advanced aerodynamics, not to mention the use of light weight materials, are expected to be a pat of the 2011 BMW M5.

synergygreencamaro---4.jpg

First shown in concept form at last year’s SEMA Show, Chevy has decided to send the Synergy Green Camaro into production as a new special edition model. Based on the 1LT trim model, with a 304-hp direct-injection 3.6-liter V6 engine, this special edition Camaro includes Cyber Grey Rally Stripes, a rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels and, of course, several coats of “look-at-me” Synergy Green paint. The interior also gets a few tweaks with a Synergy Green instrument panel, door inserts and stitching.

Sadly, the aggressive aero kit shown on the concept kit isn’t a part of the package.

Retailing for $26,790, the Synergy Green Camaro also includes the Camaro Convenience and Connectivity Package, adding Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port and a remote starter system (automatic transmission only).

Produced in limited numbers from February to May of this year, the Synergy Green Camaro follows in the tread marks of first generation Camaros, which were offered in such wild colors as Hugger Orange, Daytona Yellow and Rallye Green.

Several months ago GM’s Australian Holden division announced that it would offer a special edition of the Commodore, dressed up to look like the Pontiac G8. Called the Holden VE Commodore SS V-Series Special Edition, the new model looks mostly identical to the Pontiac model (itself based on the Commodore), except for the absence of any Pontiac badging.

The model has been such a huge success, that Holden has now said it will continue to offer the package indefinitely. Retailing for $1,000 Australian premium ($923 U.S.), dealerships are even ordering stockiles of Pontiac badges so Aussie gearheads can more accurately replicate the G8.

Sadly, the Aussie’s enthuaism for the car isn’t shared by American consumers, or at least not by the execs at General Motors, who killed off the Pontiac brand shortly after it began to offer the G8 – arguably the best product from the company in 30 years.
