Synergy Green Camaro Debuts as New Special Edition Model

First shown in concept form at last year’s SEMA Show, Chevy has decided to send the Synergy Green Camaro into production as a new special edition model. Based on the 1LT trim model, with a 304-hp direct-injection 3.6-liter V6 engine, this special edition Camaro includes Cyber Grey Rally Stripes, a rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels and, of course, several coats of “look-at-me” Synergy Green paint. The interior also gets a few tweaks with a Synergy Green instrument panel, door inserts and stitching.

Sadly, the aggressive aero kit shown on the concept kit isn’t a part of the package.

Retailing for $26,790, the Synergy Green Camaro also includes the Camaro Convenience and Connectivity Package, adding Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port and a remote starter system (automatic transmission only).

Produced in limited numbers from February to May of this year, the Synergy Green Camaro follows in the tread marks of first generation Camaros, which were offered in such wild colors as Hugger Orange, Daytona Yellow and Rallye Green.

Official release after the jump:

DETROIT – Hot and cool exterior colors are a part of Chevy Camaro history. Now the 2010 model is getting its own.

Chevrolet today debuts the Camaro Synergy Special Edition with pricing starting at $26,790. Synergy will be produced in limited quantities from February to May.

“Synergy Green continues a long tradition of dramatic Camaro colors,” says Camaro historian Scott Settlemire. “Some of the most sought-after Camaros are first generation cars – those from 1967 to 1969 – in Hugger Orange, Daytona Yellow, and Rallye Green.”

The 2010 Camaro Synergy Special Edition is based on a Camaro 1LT, with a 3.6L direct injection V-6, paired with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The powertrain has become a benchmark for the segment by offering a combination of performance and efficiency: The V-6 delivers 304 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque, and returns up to 29 mpg on the highway.

The Synergy Green exterior color was first previewed at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Manufacturers (SEMA) show. In production form, the Synergy Green is accented by Cyber Grey Rally Stripes running the length of the Camaro hood and rear deck. Other exterior features include a standard rear spoiler, and standard 19 inch, Sterling Silver painted wheels wrapped with P245/50R19 tires.

The color scheme is mirrored on the interior, with Synergy Green instrument panel and door inserts. Synergy Green stitching also accents the Jet Black cloth seats, steering wheel, shift knob and center console.

“Just as those colors helped make the first generation Camaro an icon, modern colors like Inferno Orange, Rallye Yellow Transformers Edition and Synergy Green will define the 2010 Camaro,” Settlemire said.

The Special Edition also includes the Camaro Convenience and Connectivity Package, with Bluetooth phone connectivity, USB port for MP3 players, and remote vehicle start for models equipped with an automatic transmission.

“The Synergy Special Edition package is designed for customers who want a unique performance car at an attainable price,” says Camaro marketing manager John Fitzpatrick. “For under $27,000, Camaro Synergy Special Edition offers standout styling, modern technologies like Bluetooth, and 304 horsepower under the hood.”

Can you tell how many 2010 Synergy Green Edition 1LT Camaros were produced?

  • Jean

I also am trying to find out how many were produced, since I have one. LOL I LOVE it! It turns heads everywhere.

  • Steve

I live in the small town of Camp Verde AZ and my Synergy Green Camaro is the only one in this valley (we do have one that comes over from Prescott but they don’t live here) and like Jean says it turns heads, and I too want to know how many where produced as well, the sales man at the dealer told us that we own the valley being the only Synergy Green Camaro here

  • Judi

I, too, own a Synergy Camaro…I was one of two on the Hot Rod Power Tour…HOW MANY WERE BUILT??? Everybody keeps asking, haven’t seen an answer yet…..

  • Cameron

Wikipedia has hard numbers. For 2010 403 were made with manual transmission. For automatic about 1000 were made. You might want to double check the numbers on Wiki though.

    Cheers,

    Cameron

I have one also. I had read somewhere that there were 2,425 made. Trying to find where that was at though.

I have had my 2010 synergy green camaro for a year and a half. I love it. Yes, heads turn and everyone knows where you are at all times. (I live in a small town) My husband hates it because its hard to see because the back windows are so small, you have to be careful when you backup. That baby will fly though. It is the prettiest color you’ve ever seen. Shiny and the green on the inside doors glows at nite. I have had people stop me all the time telling me how beautiful she is. love this car!!!!
