Recall Notice: General Motors Recalls 1.3 Million Chevy Cobalt, Pontiac G5 Models

Where are the hearings? Why did it take so long for GM to acknowledge if the facts are the same in both cases?

Bought a 2006 Cobalt for my daughter to take to college with 10,000 miles on it. Many problems – most recently a couple of months ago – had to fix power steering. She was driving on campus and almost hit a pedestrian when instantly she lost power steering. This is a nightmare – someone is going to be killed if this problem is not corrected. And of course we already paid to have it fixed – will there be a rebate for those of us who have already put out money?

when will you be informing customers? this is dangerous, we are traveling out of town every day and this is very scary.

My grandson’s girlfriend lost her power steering on her 2007 coblat on the freeway. she hit a cement wall and was in the hospital for a week. She is still having problems and is lucky to be alive. He had to have surgery on her broken cheek bone! We are so happy this is being recalled before someone looses their life!!!

I have a 2008 cobalt, purchase in St. johns NL…wondering if their is a recall on the car, and if so when will i be notified…thank you.

I own a 2005 Chevy Malibu and I been having problems with the power steering.
About a week ago I was driving my car and I was turning on a bridge and I lost my power steering it was very scary.
Thank God I’m alive!

My Cobalt has been pulling me and jerking the wheel out of my hands and making sudden turns and just pulling away from me while im driving, NOW i know why! I have been blaming this on the pot holes and horrible winter roads! Now that I know its a problem with the car, the next time it pulls out of my hands, Im going to PANIC!!!! It does this constantly while I drive!

If you have already paid to repair your cobalt power steering problem you can get reembursed from GM becasue of the recall. Call Gm in Detroit and ask for reemburshment forms. You must have all your reciepts of repair cost

Finally, my prayers are answered. I bought a 2007 Cobalt for my 17 year old daughter and the power steering started to fail just 3 months after I bought it. The first time it failed on her she was on a very busy highway and had to pull over because of its lack of handling and waited for me to get to her cause she was scared stiff of driving it. After countless P/S failures I just bought her a Hyundai Accent. The Cobalt sits at home w nobody using it and the Accent is working perfectly, no problems.

Man Colbalts have dents like the drivers have lost control. Most Colbalt Drivers are Young Women, and many of them have babies. I was driving in Cincinnati one Early November Evening, a sudden fall thunderstorm came, and it was torrential. There were winds of 60MPH sustained and 100 MPH gusts. A Colbalt lost controland flipped over right in ront of me. The driver a young female no older than 25. That Colbalt did protect hr fom death but she was injured and bloddy.

By the way I drive an 07 Accent, and I put nearly 100K miles on it. Its a great car, and anybody who stil doesnt think Hyundai is a great car company is an absolute Idiot about cars. Its also my second Accent.

For those who have comments regarding their vehicle and want to inquire if there are any recalls on their vehicle try calling the customer service of General Motors so that you will be able to know if your vehicle is included in one of their recalls

How long are we going to have to wait before they take care of the poblem? I’m afraid to drive my Cobalt and its the only vehicle I own.They paid back their loan and made a profit.

I own a 2005 Cobalt and have issues when I drive, feels like its being blown by wind. I blew it off not knowing any better. Now I’m afraid to drive because the recall was a steering issue. Why is it taking so long to get GM to take care of this issue. I only own one car.

Not only has the power steering went out on our 2007 Cobalt but you can’t keep the wheels balanced and the front end aligned!Dealer said I had a “bent rim”? went and had tires put on front and tire company could not find a “bent rim”,it is probably a bent or bad control arm?This will be the last one we buy!No more GM for us.

We have a 2002 Pontiac Gran Prix 3.8L. Has there been a recall for bad fuel injectors on this model?

I have a malibu maxx had steering fixed two times, my wife owns a cobalt, we received the recall notice and the problem described, fit my Malibu Maxx to the letter, now I am in the process of trying to get this taken care of on both of my cars! The dealer is having trouble getting the parts.

I have a 2008 Cobalt that the seats are coming apart . the passenger seat is stuck in one place . The driver seat has the cushion breaking down and the spring coming through and hitting my back. I only have 15870 miles on it. had the Power Steering recall done about 1000 miles ago.

Lower control arms are bad and GM knows it……

I have a 06 chevy cobalt and I took it to my local dealer to have the power steering replaced over the recall. I never had trouble out of my car before then, now it will jerk, has power steering on the dash, and does all that is being described in these post! I have called the dealership several times and they act like its not their responsibility to fix it. What should I do? Can it still be fixed under the recall?
