I own a 1980 stretched Vette with 2 small bucket seats where the battery box and the jack compartment were.I bought it used this way and I have raised two kids with it and it handles just perfectly..I’ve owned it since 1982

Why would a 4 door Vette have to be hideous?! Heck I saw on a Travel Channel show awhile back(Extreme Rides I think)a stretch limo Ferrari where some customizers, literally cut a late model Ferrari in half and then inserted either 6-8 seat midsection, and then reatatched the front & back perfectly.

So are you going to tell me 2 additional seats & doors are going to ruin a Corvette? Come on, with some good ol Yankee ingenuity and inspired styling it CAN be done. If GM’s designers can’t pull that off, then maybe they should be fired & some fresh young & hungry blood brought in.

And I am excited, really pumped about the idea of a radical new mid-engined, wickedly styled C8 Vette that will pull everyone’s attention away from Ferrari & Lamborghini. I’m not too crazy about the thought of a V6 engine though. The one thing Chevy does need to stick to is a V8.

There would still be a coupe, but the potential for a 4-door as well. I know it sounds like a terrible idea, but so would a 4-door 911… and yet the Panamera is amazing.

absolute crap idea. Corvette should ALWAYS and forever remain a v8 coupe.

Yea, but as good as the CTS-V is, it's like the E63 or M5, certain compromises still have to be made as its based on a standard luxury sedan. If you start with a "4-door sports car" you can take it even more hard core. But yea... hard to convince anyone to buy one with the V is so damn good.

My thoughts exactly. The current CTS-V can be bought today for around 62k and offers more than a 4-door Corvette ever would.

Um, hello? Cadillac CTS-V anyone? I own one and it pretty much qualifies as a four-door Corvette.

I think the idea is a non-starter, myself.

…and a V6 Corvette? Blasphemy.
