Shaston, a Switzerland-based international distributor of Windows Mobile devices, just sent us these photos of a BMW 760Li Individual, modified with parts from well-known BMW-tuner Lumma. They didn’t give us a ton of details, but thankfully we’re equipped with a pair of eyeballs to make some observations of our own.

Lumma’s products are beginning to form a consistent shape throughout their BMW line and this 7-Series is no different. The front bumper on this 760Li is clearly from Lumma with many Lumma-inspired features. Wide fender arches flare up the front and the rear, giving the car a more aggressive, sportier profile. They’re a little out-of-place on the luxury 7-Series, but we think it might look a lot cleaner if the arches were molded on and blended in with the body.

There are several vent additions on the vehicle, from the front to the rear with a stylish rear bumper featuring a diffuser between the quad-tipped exhaust. It’s worth noting that the front grilles and mirrors have been swapped out with carbon fiber pieces.

There’s no word if the twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 gets any power upgrades. It doesn’t need it though, with 554-hp and 553 ft-lbs of torque.

Shaston didn’t disclose much to us other than the first demonstration car is located in Switzerland and that this vehicle (or tuning package) will be launched in three weeks with “the most advanced computerized management.” We’re curious to see if Shaston ties in Windows Mobile products to their vehicle. Hopefully it’ll be the new Windows Phone 7, tying together automotive technology brilliance with wireless technology.

Much like Jack Baruth’s Lime Green Audi S5, this BMW M3 is painted in a one-off manner, although whoever ordered the car didn’t reach as far back as Jack’s 1970′s era lime green.

The M3 is painted in Dakar Yellow, a hue available on the late 1990′s M3 and M Coupe models. Costing an extra $5,000, this M3 is also festooned with all sorts of carbon fiber crap that will make your vehicle faster by exactly 0.00 seconds. Either way, we applaud the buyer for not getting an M3 in white, black, grey, silver or blue, and exponentially cooler than the lame Frozen Gray paint.

Porsche has green-lit their hybrid supercar concept, the 918 Spyder, for production. The 918 Spyder, able to get 78 mpg while hitting 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, is expected to cost $630,000 by the time it hits the streets. We wonder if the much hyped $7,500 tax credit will apply, but when you’re this deep into the price bracket, it scarcely matters.

While purists may scoff at the notion of a Porsche hybrid supercar, the 918 Spyder is a very significant car, whether you love it or hate it. The 918 shows that the word hybrid does not have to mean “boring econobox”, and that even sports car makers like Porsche have capitulated to the “green fever” that has gripped our society over the last decade.

General Motors’ Australian Holden brand remains the choice of hooligans down under, as police in the Australian state of Victoria announced that 46% of cars impounded under their “hoon” laws. Ford is the second most popular with 16.7% of the impound share, while Nissan is third with 7.8%.

Holden’s Commodore has been Australia’s best-selling vehicle for decades, and the rear-drive chassis and plentiful supply of turbo six-cylinder or General Motors V8s means that cheap, powerful Holdens are easily affordable for young Australian enthusiasts.

Australian police have taken to crushing vehicles confiscated in cases of reckless driving if they are deemed “unsafe”. One police officer cited a vehicle without “ABS brakes and airbags” stating “I cannot, in good conscience, send that vehicle back into the community.” Many older Commodores (such as the VL series pictured above) did not come with these features, but remain immensely popular with young gearheads.

Despite their old-school muscle car flavor, North Americans stayed away from the two Holden models sold in North America, the 2003-2006 Pontiac GTO (based off the Holden Monaro) and the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 (a rebadged Commodore SS).

Hyundai edged out BMW and Audi in leading German car magazine Autobild’s annual quality survey. Hyundai also beat out Toyota, long considered the benchmark for quality and reliability.

Using owner feedback, recall information and data from Germany’s well known TUV technical inspection agency, the magazine’s yearly report is held in high regard in Europe.

“Hyundai is always proud to receive awards for its products, particularly this one from AutoBild, which places the company ahead of brands many have considered to be at the pinnacle of the industry.” said Hyundai Motor Company Marketing Director Oliver Mann.

Hyundai’s first place ranking comes at a crucial point in time for the Korean automaker, as it prepares an onslaught of new compact cars for Europe and prepares to move upmarket in North America, with the $60,000 Equus sedan leading the charge.

Pagani has just released a complete video documenting the Zonda R’s outrageously fast 6:47 Nürburgring lap time. Set several weeks ago, that time tops the Ferrari 599XX’s best of 6:58 in the somewhat irrelevant category of production-based cars. What that means is, while the Zonda R might have a production chassis underneath it, it’s definitely not street legal.

The Zonda R is a track-only machine weighing just 2,359 lbs and powered by a 6.0-liter AMG V12 engine that makes an incredible 750-hp and 524 ft-lbs of torque. That’s enough for a 0-60 mp time of just 2.7 seconds, using a mid-engine, rear-drive setup with a paddle-shift sequential gearbox.

The street legal lap still belongs to the Radical SR8LM with a time of 6:48. But that’s also a bit ridiculous, as the Radical is just a street-legal prototype race car and it’s not even legal in most countries. The runner up in the production class is another odd-ball, the Gumpert Apollo, with a 7:11.57. Although it’s hard to classify that vehicle as a production car. Finally, and more reasonably, there’s the 7:22 of the Dodge Viper ACR.

But enough with the stats. Check out some incredible driving after the jump.

Chevy is about ready to launch the all new Cruze compact sedan here in North America and company executives have high hopes for this latest model. During a sit-down Q&A with engineering, marketing and product bosses behind the Cruze, Chuck Russell, Vehicle Line Director for Global Compact Cars said the introduction of the Cruze, “might be he most important launch we’ve ever done.”

The numbers seem to support Russell’s statement. As a brand, Chevy sales make up 70 percent of GM’s total sales in the U.S. and the compact car segment just so happens to be the second largest segment in the U.S., making up 15.2 percent of all vehicles sold. That’s just shy of the 16.1 percent first place spot held by mid-size sedans. This also happens to be a segment where Chevy has come up short, with the Cobalt a failed successor to the Cavalier.

With the Cruze, Chevy believes it has the car to get the job done, having already sold 270,000 units globally. But this is not an entirely global car, with new items being introduced in each market, like the new 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that is debuting in the U.S.

North American models will also get Chevy’s patented Z-link rear suspension that maintains the benefits of a fixed torsion beam setup (like low cost, light weight and compact size) while delivering a ride that is closer to a fully-independent setup. GM engineers believe they’ve come up with something truly innovative in this suspension setup, even going so far as to call it a “better moustrap.” Not all markets are getting this more advanced rear suspension system, but North America is because Chevy wanted to build a compact car that would be a winner. “Being as good as [the competition] isn’t going to work,” says Russell.

In general Chevy said it concentrated on five major areas in developing the Cruze, ensuring its compact but with an upscale presence, has leading fuel economy, class-leading safety and content, excellent handling and a refined ride, and finally durability and top-notch build quality.

For the doubters, Global Small Car Marketing Director Margaret Brooks, cites the new Equinox, stating the right product will bring success. Brooks lists off impressive numbers for the Equinox, like a four percent market share increase in the compact crossover segment (the nations 3rd largest segment) so far this year, with an average transaction price that is up $3,400. She breaks down where Chevy expects to see Cruze buyers coming from, with a third moving up from smaller or used cars, a third moving over from current GM products and a third moving down from a larger vehicle.

More importantly, however, are two other stats. First, GM expects that up to 50 percent of Cruze buyers will be conquest customers from other brands. Roughly half of all Equinox buyers are coming to Chevy from other brands and Brooks says that the compact crossover is a good bellwether on which to base Cruze data. Second, GM intends to reach new customers with the Cruze, and not in new demographics either. Brooks says that like the Cobalt (and other compact cars for that matter), the key demographics are 20-29 year-olds, as well as empty-nesters, with the 35 to 45 year-old group passing by cars like this for ones with more space, size and utility. Instead, Chevy believes the Cruze will bring it increased market share in new geographic regions.

While Brooks does admit that the Cruze name will mean added marketing for Chevy, competing against legendary sales icons and household names like the Civic and Corolla, she insists a new name was needed for what is essentially the first global Chevy platform.

Along with an expected onslaught of traditional marketing, Russell says Chevy will look to more grassroots methods of communicating the different aspects of the Cruze to customers, knowing that in such a competitive segment they’ll have to bring the Cruze to buyers – likely with competitors in tow to give a car-to-car comparison.

For AutoGuide’s take on the all-new 2011 Chevy Cruze, you’ll have to wait for our First Drive, coming July 31st.

Jeep‘s Wrangler is straying from its spartan mandate to incorporate things like a body colored hardtop and an upgraded interior featuring modern looking switchgear and a two-tone color palate.

Available options also include a Hill Descent Control function, heated seats and steering wheel mounted audio controls. The new packaging represents a change in direction for the Wrangler, once the very definition of bare-bones. Allpar, the web’s pre-eminent source for Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep news, has more on the updated Wrangler.

As Pagani winds down production of their Zonda supercar, a specially comissioned version, known as the Zonda HH, is being built for a wealthy American customer. According to internet forum Teamspeed, this example will have the most powerful engine available mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and the body will be painted a special Lamborghini blue.

With 680 horsepower on tap, the Zonda HH will also get the top pick of all parts, with a special carbon titanium tub (the only road car in the world using such a structure), center lock wheels, carbon brakes and a titanium exhaust system rounding out the spec sheet.  The “owner” describes it as a cross between a Zonda Cinque and a Zonda F.
