Thanks to the folks at 5Post we have more BMW M5 spy photos to bring you – including many of the best yet. The pictures are less about the overall shape of the car and more about details, like the rear lip spoiler on the trunk. Also of note are 19-inch wheels on the test mule with 265 front and 295 rear tires.
The photos also give us a great glimpse inside the cabin of the next M5, showing a tachometer with a 7000 rpm redline. The much lower redline is, of course, due to the use of a twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Similar to the one found in the X5 M and X6 M, we expect it to make more than the 555-hp either of those vehicles produces.
Of particular note on the interior are the M1 and M2 switches on the steering wheel, perhaps indicating different drive modes for the car that has been rumored to use a hybrid setup to deliver added bursts of power.
No firm details of a launch are set, but the 2012 M5 has been rumored to debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show next September. Between now and then, however, the two best possibilities are the upcoming Paris Auto Show this Fall as well as the Geneva Auto Show in March.
