Toyota has announced via its official Twitter feed that it will show-off an electric version of the RAV4 at the LA Auto Show in November. Referred to as the RAV4-EV, this vehicle is the first product to come from the tie-up with American electric sports car maker Tesla. Both Toyota and Tesla have joined forces in a larger plan that will see Toyota invest in the electric sports car maker, helping it bring its electric luxury sedan to market, while Toyota gains battery technology in a bid to compete with new electric cars from Nissan and Chevy.
In addition to that news, Toyota has also said it the Prius PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric) will hit dealers in the second quarter of 2012, with plans to sell as many as 20,000 units annually.
