The name Lexus is most certainly not synonymous with off-roading, but last year, Joe Bacal entered a specially prepped LX in the Stock Full class of the SCORE series; surprising the establishment with a largely trouble free run and a class win to boot.
Since then Bacal has gone from strength to strength – ultimately garnering his first off-road championship, thanks to a string of podium finishes and a win at the SCORE/Terrible sponsored Prim 300 in Las Vegas.
Making the championship victory even more remarkable is that Bacal is a Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor; has driven every mile of every race he’s competed in and won the 300 despite a serious knee injury which required 25 stitches prior to the start of the race. With the class championship secured; Bacal and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Lexus team look forward to this year’s Baja 1000, which begins on November 17.
