Nissan has announced a new brand for the Chinese market, known as Venucia, or Qi Chen in Chinese. The cars will be developed, launched and sold in partnership of Dongfeng Nissan, the local arm of the Japanese automaker.

“In the future, we aim to sell more than one million vehicles annually and the new brand will play an important role by offering practical models with class-leading quality,” said Fumiaki Matsumoto, managing director of Dongfeng Nissan, in an official statement.

The Venucia brand will be for the Chinese market only, and focus on the needs of China’s consumers. The logo, seen above, is based on the brands “five promises”, which are “to respect customers, create value, do the best, achieve world-class quality, and seek the dream.”

Dongfeng Nissan unveils a new brand for China

Beijing (September 8, 2010) – Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (Dongfeng Nissan), Nissan’s local partner in China, today announced the new original brand “Venucia (Chinese Name: Qi Chen)” as one of the further growth strategies of the company.

The new models under this brand will be developed by Dongfeng Nissan and the first mass-production model is planned to be introduced to the Chinese market in 2012. By launching this new brand, Dongfeng Nissan will sell passenger cars under two brands, “Nissan” and “Venucia,” in China.

A dedicated team, including design, R&D, manufacturing, marketing and sales network development, will be established to support the project. The team will work to accommodate a wide range of needs of Chinese customers in the rapidly developing market.

“In the future, we aim to sell more than one million vehicles annually and the new brand will play an important role by offering practical models with class-leading quality,” said Fumiaki Matsumoto, managing director of Dongfeng Nissan.

Dongfeng Nissan will provide high-quality products and services to Chinese customers to establish the firm presence of the “Venucia” original brand in the Chinese market.

The brand name, “VENUCIA,” is derived from the Roman “Venus.” The five stars of the brand logo represent the company’s five brand promises. VENUCIA aims to respect customers, create value, do the best, achieve world-class quality, and seek the dream.
