It’s never too early to start thinking about the camping trips you’re going to take next summer. That’s why Airstream has launched its all-new 2011 Avenue Class B Motorhome.
Keeping economy in mind, the Avenue was designed to keep your family budget on track while still offering everything you’ll need away from home. Built on the Chevrolet 3500 Series Express chassis, this class B motorhome is outfitted with a L96 V8 engine and 6L90 transmission, the largest of GM’s rear-wheel drive six-speed automatic transmission variants. When you put the two together, you’re getting exceptional horsepower and torque for hauling (the Avenue has a towing capacity of nearly 8,000 pounds).
“We designed every detail of the 2011 Airstream Avenue to bring our customers a touring coach that combines value, performance and comfort,” said President and CEO Bob Wheeler. “Our latest motorhome offering delivers remarkable horsepower and towing capabilities –all with budget and safety in mind. With the Avenue, travelers can enjoy the driveability of an automobile yet have a true home on wheels.”
The Avenue seats seven and sleeps two, and comes equipped with side impact air bags – the only Class-B motorhome to have them. Other great features include Ultraleather seating and stainless steel appliances, and swiveling front captain chairs that can be used around a central table.
Just so you don’t have to leave the comforts of home behind, the Avenue comes with a kitchen, bathroom, and a lounge area that converts into a bed. There’s also a 19-inch flat panel HD LCD/DVD pre-wired for a satellite dish, a standard 13,500 BTU air conditioner and 16,000 BTU furnace.
The Airstream Avenue has a suggested retail price of $95,544.
