It’s one of those concept cars that you really wish they’d make. And it looks like our wished might just come true with Audi development boss Stefan Reil commenting that the Quattro Concept unveiled at the Paris Auto Show is undergoing a thorough evaluation for a limited production run.
Making 408-hp from a turbocharged 2.5-lit4r 5-cylinder and weighing just 3,000 lbs. the Quattro is an homage to the original Quattro Coupe.
Reil admitted that there’s no guesswork when it comes to the engineering of the vehicle, as that’s already been figured out, suggesting the Paris show car is a fully functional vehicle. After all, it does ride on the RS5 chassis and used an engine donated from the TT-RS – both production vehicles.
The car itself would be built in limited numbers at VW’s newly acquired design firm Italdesign in Milan.
