Set to make its world premiere next Wednesday at the LA Auto Show, Chevrolet has released the first official pics of the new 2011 Camaro Convertible on its Camaro Facebook page.

Sporting a rag-top, rather than a hard-top, the convertible model should only get a small weight gain over its coupe counterpart. Both the V6 and V8 engines will be offered with either a manual or automatic transmission. The V6 engine having been upgraded recently now makes 312-hp, while the V8-powered SS will make as much as 426-hp with the 6-speed stick.

Car will go on sale in March starting at close to $30,000.

We’ll bring you more on the new Camaro Convertible with LA Auto Show coverage starting Wednesday, November 17. Until then, check out our LA Auto Show Preview here.

We can’t wait for the new 2011 Camaro convertible to hit the showroom floor. I think not having a convertible version was a huge over site by Chevy for the 2010 version (seen here: http://www.chevy-camaro-2011.com). This car will jump off the showroom floor in California and other warm states.
