Toyota Hangs On To Sales Crown Despite Rough Year

From recalls to unintended acceleration to lawsuits, 2010 was not a good year for Toyota. The seemingly infallible automaker had its reputation for quality and reliability shattered forever – but that didn’t stop the brand from coming out as the sales leader in a few categories.

Yet again, the Camry was America’s best selling passenger car, while both the Toyota and Lexus brands took sales crowns of their own. Toyota was the top selling brand in the United States, while Lexus led all luxury car makers in sales.  2011 will be an interesting year for the company. While they appear to have rebounded from their woes, their competition from Korea and the United States has gone from strength to strength, and Toyota will be under lots of pressure to hold them off.

Toyota has proven themselves to be an unethical company. It amazes me that Americans still stand by it. Wake up people!
They still have not fixed their acceleration problems. Last October in Michigan, another 5 people died from a runaway Prius.

huh ? There is no unintended acceleration problem according to our federal government (NHTSA). People are stepping on the gas instead of the brake. I have done it myself but had the presence of mind to lift my foot. Toyota has been VERY ethical through this entire witch hunt.
