Audi A1 Clubsport Quattro Bows at Worthersee Tour With 503-HP

If Audi doesn’t want to stoke rumors of an RS1 model, they’re going about it all wrong. Debuting at the annual Worthersee Tour VW GTI meet that is held each year in Austria, Audi has just unveiled the A1 Clubsport Quattro, a turbocharged 5-cylinder AWD show car that makes an incredible 503-hp.

Using the same engine found in the Audi TT-RS, this 5-cylinder engine has been pumped up to the 503-hp mark with 487 lb-ft of torque. Sporting some DTM-style fender-flares the car is 2.36-inches wider and even features a side exit exhaust pipe. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, Audi claims a 0-62 mph time of 3.7 seconds with a blast to 124-mph (200 km/h) in just 10.9.

Inside those flared fenders are some retro-style 19-inch wheels with 255/30 tires at all four corners. Up front the car even gets six-piston carbon ceramic disks.

With plenty of carbon fiber accents outside, including a carbon fiber roof, there’s also plenty of high-gloss weave inside with carbon-backed seats borrowed from the R8 GT. To keep weight to a minimum (just over 3,000 lbs) the A1 Clubsport Quattro has deleted rear seats and doesn’t even feature a stereo or Audi’s MMI system.

On display at the 2011 Worthersee tour, the A1 Clubsport can be driven, virtually that is, at
