The SCORE Baja 1000 is one of the toughest races on the planet, which tests man and machine to the absolute limit. Despite its tough nature, this race still attracts many teams and drivers. Team BFGoodrich for instance has 23 drivers wanting to have a go in this race, but only six can compete.
While two of the six will be automatically crowned champions at the SCCA National Runoffs. The other four will have to depend the whims of voters. In a format similar to reality TV shows, Team BFGoodrich will ask you to vote for your favorites from the 21 remaining drivers.
The competition will be set-up like a Race of Champions gathering, with drivers competing with each other to win points and fan votes. The four highest scorers will join the previously selected two drivers and compete in the Baja 1000.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (July 22, 2011) – Today BFGoodrich® Tires named the 23 members of the 2011 Team BFGoodrich roster. Since 2010, Team BFGoodrich has included a variety of top motorsports superstars, key industry partners, market influencers and enthusiasts who share the BFGoodrich Tires passion for driving – from motorsports and car building to engineering and everything in between.
Fans can participate in Team BFGoodrich activities by voting for their favorite team members on the BFGoodrich Tires Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bfgoodrichtires). “Both Team BFGoodrich members and fans of the brand are critical to the BFGoodrich Tires family,” said Duane Thomas, BFGoodrich’s marketing communications manager. “They’re enthusiasts like us, and we want their input when developing new tires or expanding programs. This Facebook vote is a fun way for BFGoodrich Tires fans to interact with their favorite motorsports personalities and decide which Team BFGoodrich member will race in Baja and attend the Skip Barber Racing School.”

“Having the chance to race the SCORE Baja 1000 was a dream come true,” said Scherer, Team BFGoodrich member and 2009 King of the Hammers winner. “I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share the experience with. Our second-place finish in the BC Class was quite an accomplishment, especially when you consider that most of us had never raced the Baja 1000 before.
