Yep, the US of A will never build a quality car with performance and economy like they’ve been doing in Europe for decades. My 2003 406 Peugeot 2.0 litre common rail diesel gets better than 40mpg city/highway and close to 50 highway alone. And it’s a large 7 seater station wagon. But I guess American blood on the sands of the Middle East is cheaper than oil.

These are the “Top 10 Most Fuel Efficient Cars”, if it doesn’t use fuel, it cannot be considered “fuel efficient”, it is categorized somewhere else.

i heard TDI engines can be tuned to get even more MPG and alot more power for a few hundred dollars

where the hell are the diesel cars? VW’s line up is right up there with all of these hybrids. i dont know why they dont get any publicity.

lets see if any of these fancy “hybrids are around 15- 20 years from now with there bateries and seald transmisions …i wont count on it, BUT guess what is still around that gets 45- 55 mpg US fireflys and chevy metros, get a 3cylinder 5 speed transmision and you will get just as good mpg than these cars and NO car paymentsNO bateries to be discontinued oe non serviceble engines or transmisions, i payd 800 bucks for mine 6 years ago, ive just rebuilt the motor in 5 hours and 300 bucks, put new clutch in 4 hours no problem These are the real mpg kings and money savers NO wonder they dont make them any more

THERS NO money in saving people money, they will build you cars that get ok mpgs then make sure the maintenence cost will keep them in buseness

dont keep that smart car after warranty is up your smart car will cost you 500 bucks JUST to change a burnt turn signal at your fancy Mercedes dealership. ill give you a little advice my car gets 45-55 mpg US on average, i can buy tires at walmart for $19 each, i can rebuild my engine in 5 hours with $3oo, i have 4 seats AND a trunk, i payd $1200.oo for it

HAHA here some advice for all you mpg chasers buy a 1996 chevy metro for a 1000 bucks make sure its a 3 cylinder 5 speed transmision and you will get 45-50 mpg US!! (US is the smaller gallone) heres what you wont get CAR PAYMENTS and i can garantee when these “hybrid” cars are 16- 20 years old they wont be around with there fancy bateries and sealed transmisions
