Three of the famous Goodyear Tire blimps will be participating in joint maneuvers with the United States Marine Corps Reserve to benefit the Toys for Tots Foundation.

Taking place in Ohio, Florida and California this weekend at Goodyear’s airship bases, you’ll be able to drive in and enjoy the spectacle. There’s no charge, but feel free to bring a donation (although it’s not required, it is the season!).

Goodyear first partnered with the United States Marine Corps Reserve last year and hopes to build on last year’s successful campaign, which raised $2,239 and collected 3,762 toys. The Toys for Tots program collects new, unwrapped toys and cash and gives these donations to needy children during the holidays.

“At this time of year it is difficult to think of a better cause than the Toys for Tots program,” said Nancy Jandrokovic, Goodyear’s director, global airship operations. “This was hugely successful in Akron in 2010 and with the addition of our two other bases we know the Marines’ Toys for Tots Foundation will benefit even more in 2011.”

The event is open to drive-through traffic only. You can check out specific times specific at Goodyear blimps’ website or on the company’s Facebook page.
