A 4.7-liter V8 pushes the car with 460 hp and almost 384 ft-lbs of torque to a top speed of more than 184 mph. Getting there, according to the company, can be completely comfortable or sharply responsive if sport mode is activated. Maserati achieves that ride with its proprietary continuous dampening control.
Customers may choose between two transmissions: a six-speed automatic or a six-speed electro-actuated gearbox, though the former sacrifices 0.1 seconds while racing from 0-60 mph.
The GranTurismo Sport also has an updated exterior, restyled for a sportier appearance with aggressive-looking sides and a deep-reaching oval grille. The front bumper was redesigned to improve airflow to help front brake cooling with generous scoops that direct air to the front wheels.
As is the trend with so many other automakers, the Italian marque added LED accents to the headlights for an updated style boost. Aside from LEDs, 20-inch wheels further augment the coupe’s styling to sit over paint-matching Brembo calipers.
The blue color those calipers match is new for the brand and meant to compliment the redesigned body style.
Maserati also rethought the interior and gave the front and rear seats a more ergonomic design.
