The Fast and Furious movie franchise has been a profitable one, but outside the most recent film, most automotive enthusiasts cringe at the idea of it.

Now we have something even worse to look forward to. Electronic Arts, publisher of the Need for Speed video games has reportedly hired George and John Gatins of Real Steel fame to write a movie script based on its beloved racing game series. Since the first Need for Speed was released in 1994, the series of games has garnered more than $100 million in revenue.

Apparently Warner Bros, Sony, and Paramount are all interested in acquiring the rights of the upcoming flick with Paramount in the front of the pack.

The most recent Need for Speed: The Run is the 18th game in the franchise and Electronic Arts hired Sean Faris and Christina Hendricks to play lead roles in the game.
