2013 Honda Accord Trim Sheet Leaked, Sport Model Targets Camry SE

2013 Honda Accord Trim Sheet Leaked, Sport Model Targets Camry SE

The mid-size family sedan segment is one of the most competitive markets in the industry and with many of its rivals recently revamped, Honda is prepping an all-new 2013 Accord.

While we know that the upcoming 2013 Accord is going to be very similar in appearance to the outgoing model, we’ve now found some more information about the car’s deeper changes. Most interesting are the new trim packages: Sport and Touring.

The new Accord Sport package is likely a direct response to the Toyota Camry SE, which is in high-demand. The Camry SE comes equipped with all sorts of sportier options that you wouldn’t expect in the usual Camry, like larger wheels and a retuned suspension, as well as paddle shifters and a transmission that actually rev-matches on down-shifts.

It’s not clear if the Accord Sport will pack any additional performance items and when contacted Honda representatives had no comment.

The 2013 Accord will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a brand new continuously variable transmission for the 4-cylinder models. With the V6 model, a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission will be offered.

Expect the new 2013 Accord to hit dealers around September of this year.

You “know” that the 9th gen will look similar to the 8th gen?
Based on a coupe, that we all know shares basically the same dimensions with the current coupe?

Have you not read where Honda is cutting the length and wheelbase of the Accord?
It is HIGHLY unlikely that the similar styling will carry through to a car that is physically smaller.

Can’t wait to see what this new, direct injected 3.5L can do in the performance dept.  What I gather is it will have 310 hp and 265 lb ft of torque.  Depending on the weight of the new model, I’m guessing 0 – 60 will arrive in the 5.7 or 5.8 range for the new 6 speed automatic sedan.

If this car does not suit my tastes, I’m also shopping the new Acura RL with the same “new” motor as the Honda and will be offered with electric motors as well in their new 4 wheel drive set-up …. should be really fast … maybe 5.0 secs to 60 mph?  I’m 6’4″ and 225 lbs …. if I can fit in the new Acura RL I’ll prolly snatch it up but sadly I can’t fit in 4 out of 5 cars on the market these days.

I bought a roomy 2011 Azera last year as a daily driver to compliment my track ready 535i w/ stage 1 turbo but to be honest, I’ve grown a bit disenchanted with both of those rides for different reasons.  I’m gonna sell the Azera which I had intended to supercharge and keep around for awhile but the company I was gonna use “Seoulful Racing” discontinued the modification …. so much for the sleeper I had envisioned!  I just love a good sleeper and they yanked the rug right out from under me (damm*t).  As is, the car gets to 60 in a barely respectable 6.3 seconds but I need something a lil faster for my daily driver.  It looks good in black on black with custom wheels but I’m ready to trade it in.

    Cool story, bro!
Are you really deciding between a $60k RL and a $30k Accord?
