We’ve seen some pretty silly car sound apps in our time, but oh boy… this one might have just taken the top spot on our list.

The XLR8 app featured plenty of high-quality sounds from various muscle and exotic cars, utilizing your phone’s accelerometer to make your car (or cat) sound as if it’s really awesome, and really powerful. iBoost on the other hand, will make your vehicle sound as if it’s turbocharged, thanks to its collaboration with HKS to get high-quality recordings of its blow-off valves.

So if you ever want to make your car sound turbocharged, prepare to waste a dollar. The HKS upgrade pack costs an extra $1.99, but with it, you’ll get a boost gauge that looks very much like one from HKS, along with sounds from its famous SQV. Similar to the XLR8 app, iBoost utilizes the phone’s sensors to detect movement and acceleration of the car to simulate a turbocharged vehicle.

Silly? Most definitely, but we can see the appeal. Our favorite part of the app are the human car sounds, which is really awesome when well done.
