Muscle probably isn’t the first thought that comes to mind when you see a Lexus badge, but that doesn’t mean the brand can’t pack a serious punch — something drift king Ken Gushi and the IS F CCS-R he will be driving up Pike’s Peak will undoubtedly prove.
With a 5.0-liter V8 making 416 hp and 371 lb-ft of torque for the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, there’s little left in this Lexus to resemble a street machine. Much of the body and interior has been replaced by carbon fiber to save weight, even the windows have been replaced with polycarbonate material.
In the video below, we get an explanation of the car and a little bit of driving footage. It’s nothing compared to what’s going to happen on July 8 when the race takes place in Colorado, but if you skip to the end of the video you’ll get to hear the engine roar.
