For those not catching the 24 Hours of Le Mans online or on television, Toyota‘s hopes of victory, or even a podium spot, at the endurance classic got a lot slimmer thanks to the actions of a Ferrari that wasn’t watching its mirrors.

Anthony Davidson was behind the wheel of the Toyota TS-030 Hybrid race car just before the five-hour mark when he got tangled up with a Ferrari, sending the TS-030 twisting into the air before sliding into the barriers that lead into the Mulsanne straight. Davidson was taken to the hospital after suffering from shock and back pains after the crash.

Davidson was walking and talking normally and did not appear to be seriously injured according to the Japanese automaker.

Nope. Unless there is an outright action to physically take out another car by means of a crash, of which sometimes it would be handled in a court of law, as the old saying goes, “that’s racing.”
