Mazda has released a second video giving us a hint at what the next generation Mazda6 will look like when it bows at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.
The first video gave us a look at the front end, while this newest clip offers a peek down the side of the car. Sculpted lines are shown that look like they came directly from the Takeri concept, and represent Mazda’s new Kodo, or ‘soul of motion’ design language.
The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that powers the CX-5 will likely be the base motor for the new Mazda6, netting 155 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. A V6 option was discussed, but has reportedly been axed. A diesel option that offers 165 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque will eventually be available in the new Mazda6.
Akira Tamatani, chief designer of the Mazda6 said the car features, “well-toned, lean muscles that firmly hug the road.”
