The Auris is expected to debut in near-production concept form at the Paris Auto Show in September, while the production model is expected to appear at the Geneva show in 2013. The next generation E160 Corolla is already on sale in Japan, but has as yet to go on sale in Europe and North America. The Auris may be a good indicator what to expect in the new Matrix, and tips off some of the styling direction for the new Corolla, though the car is heavily covered up in our spy photos.
The Auris is going to be using an all new platform that will be massively important to Toyota, as it will will replace the current MC platform, which is used in much of the brands lineup. The MC platform is used in the current RAV4, Corolla, Camry, Highlander, Matrix, Venza, Prius, and Sienna. Toyota also uses it to underpin the Scion XB, and TC. The Lexus brand uses it in the CT200h, HS250h, the RX, and the ES. Suffice to say, a lot is riding on what is under this car.
