Last April, Audi confirmed that it would be buying Ducati for its small engine technology, and that deal has been finalized today, making it official.

Now that the acquisition has been completed, the new board of directors appointed Rupert Stadler, CEO of Audi, as president of the board. Meanwhile, Gabriele Del Torchio and Claudio Domenicali from Ducati have been appointed as members of the board alongside Horst Glaser and Axel Strotbek of Audi AG.

Gabriele Del Torchio will act as CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, and the board of directors have formed the new Ducati Motor Holding Executive Committee of Members of the Board with Gabriele Del Torchio appointed as President. Del Torchio was also appointed to the board of directors of Automobili Lamborghini SPA.

“Ducati is known worldwide as a premium brand among motorcycle manufacturers and has a long tradition of building sporty motorcycles. It has great expertise in high-performance engines and lightweight construction, and is one of the world’s most profitable motorcycle manufacturers. That makes Ducati an excellent fit for Audi,” said Audi board of management chair, Rupert Stadler.
