BMW On Demand USA will launch next month at BMW of Manhattan and will have 100 328i models available for rental by the hour, day, or week. Even though the available fleet will change over time, and possibly depending on the market, the initial all-328i lineup is a push on its newest model.
According to BMW Financial president Ed Robinson, the German automaker will expand to offer more luxurious models for rental, including the 7 Series, X3, X5, and possibly even M models such as the M3 and M5. Naturally, those vehicles would require a greater level of qualification, since well, they’re a whole lot more expensive than your standard 328i.
When the service first launched in Europe, a 1 Series cost roughly $22 per hour while a 5 Series was around $32 per hour. THat pricing might not fit in North America, but the details will be available when BMW Financial releases numbers next month and its website.
