In a sign that Honda hasn’t given up on its fans, or at least not in Europe, the Civic Type R is set to return.
According to the latest reports, Honda will confirm plans to built the car at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in the Fall before debuting the car next March in Geneva.
No details about what will power the new Civic Type R have leaked out, but previous rumors pointed to the possibility of a turbocharged engine.
As for other performance enhancements, look for the usual larger wheels and tires, upgraded brakes plus a retuned and lowered suspension. More aggressive bodywork would also be a part of the package.
Honda’s partner Mugen recently displays a concept version of the new Civic at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Heavy on handling and styling upgrades, that car also offered no details on possible upgraded powerplants.
