The Volvo S60 Polestar Performance Concept debuted with 508 hp, garnering the attention of automotive enthusiasts worldwide. So much so that the Swedish automaker has decided to do a very limited production run.
Perhaps realizing the potential of additional Polestar models, Volvo’s U.K. managing director Nick Connor has confirmed that a V40 Polestar is in the works and will have at least 10 percent more power than the T5 variant with 245 hp. That means at the very least, we’ll be seeing 270-hp with the potential of more – maybe even around 300.
The Polestar variant will be based off of the all-wheel drive V40 model, but few details have been released beyond what Connor has said. He did elaborate that more information will be released at the Paris Motor Show that kicks off in September.
The Volvo V40 Polestar will be much more obtainable than the limited production S60 Polestar. In a way, Volvo is spawning its own M Performance line of vehicles to rival German automaker BMW.
