Five-Point Inspection: 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track

1. Sounds Like a BEAST

If you didn’t know, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 could easily fool you into believing a thirsty V8 lives under the hood. Apart from the awesome power, it also sounds fantastic. Quiet at cruising speed, thanks to an air intake noise generator that pipes sound into the cabin, it hits peak awesome at around 4,000 rpm.

I’m 5’10” and I LOVE my 2013 3.8 Track so far with 5000+ miles.  No problems with headroom for me but friends have sat in the drivers seat and experienced exactly as the article states.  I opted for the paddle shifting auto and may never purchase another manual.  I turn off the nannies (2second button push) everyday except rainy days.  Mustang V6 doesn’t come close to this car without bolt ons and options.  Test drove V8GT and there the Mustang was favored but too many on the road for me imo.

I have owned my 2013 Gen Coupe 3.8 Track for a few months, I have over 4,500 miles and I am 6’2″.  I have never once felt like the car had a lack of headroom, I have just as much room in this car as I did in my Avalon.  I do agree that the clutch could use some tweaking, some people might not be bothered by it but, I would prefer a clutch with a slightly slower uptake for smoother starts.
