GMC Vans Recalled For Rust Leading to Fuel Leak

GMC Vans Recalled For Rust Leading to Fuel Leak

Model year 2003 to 2004 GMC Savana and Chevrolet Express vans are being recalled for corrosion that can lead to a fuel leak.

About 9,389 vans equipped with a left side cargo door are affected by the issue. In snow-prone states, water, salt and other road erosion agents meant to clear paths of winter weather can become trapped in the protective conduit that surrounds the fuel filler pipe, causing it to rupture. This corrosion will allow fuel to leak, greatly increasing the risk of fire.

General Motors will replace the fuel filler neck free of charge to the consumer. For more info you can contact the Chevrolet owner center at (866) 694-6546 and GMC at (866) 996-9463.
