Newly appointed head of Infiniti Global, Johan de Nysschen recently took a few minutes during this past weekends Pebble Beach events to answer a few questions about the luxury brand’s global presence.

De Nysschen, previously from Audi, discussed a variety of topics on camera with an important focus on the brands expansion into China.

“China is now the world’s largest car market and therefore any global player cannot ignore the importance of the Chinese market,” said de Nysschen. “We have not only set up a stand-alone Infiniti organization in China and are busy with developing a distribution network; but the big news is that we also are going to start with manufacturing in China.”

The head of Infiniti also discussed the possibility of future models, including an upcoming Halo Car. Of course the brand’s latest concepts were just revealed on North American soil, but those aren’t the only things which Infiniti is looking into.

“I think that as part of our assessment of our current product footprint, especially as we want to become a more global brand, we have to look at the needs and wants of other markets,” said de Nysschen. “We also need to look at which market segments we are not present in today.”
