Last month, Jay Leno announced that he’d be auctioning off his personal Fiat 500 Prima Edizione with all the proceeds going to benefit the Fisher House Foundation.

With Jay Leno, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, and Army Chief of Staff Ray Odiero on the stage, the 2012 Fiat 500 Prima Edizione went for an astonishing $385,000. That’s right, Leno’s previously-owned Fiat 500 could have gotten you a Lexus LFA with some change. The auction house Gooding and Co. had it listed up as being worth up to $35,000, but clearly no one paid any attention to that value when it comes to a good cause.

Fisher House is a charity that provides first-rate housing for the families of wounded vets while they recover. Another classy act by Jay Leno, who is always has humble as can be, especially when it comes to meeting fellow car enthusiasts.
