Audi‘s latest high-performance diesel model, the SQ5 TDI, will make its official debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, but it won’t be the only SQ5 on display. Joining the high-performance luxury diesel crossover will be a limited production ‘SQ5 TDI exclusive concept’ model.
The SQ5 is Audi’s first S-model to be powered by a diesel engine, and to celebrate the model’s release, 50 vehicles featuring an exclusive exterior finish and interior upgrades will be made available at the same time the standard SQ5 TDI hits dealerships in Germany. The SQ5 TDI exclusive concept will come at a price though. Based on recent conversation rates, the limited production model will be close to $120,000 (€92,000), a substantial difference compared to the standard pricing of the SQ5 TDI which is a tad over $75,500 (€58,500).
The Audi SQ5 TDI is powered by a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged diesel engine with 313-hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. As for the exclusive concept model, buyers will get an Aral Blue crystal effect finish on the exterior with the S-model signature aluminum-finish contrasting mirrors. Standard on the SQ5 TDI models are Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, and a quad-tip exhaust setup.
On the inside of the exclusive concept however, the German automaker has adorned it with a leather multifunction sports steering wheel while the shift boot has been redone in black Fine Nappa leather with contrasting snow white stitching. The dashboard cover and center armrest gets the same treatment, along with the SUV’s black sport seats. Making it extra special, the SQ5 TDI exclusive concept is the first production vehicle to feature woven leather.
Finishing off the interior changes are an Alcantara headliner, sunroof blind, and door inserts all in snow white. As for the inlays, Audi opted for a natural grain ash finish while the door trims and sills sports Audi exclusive badges.
Both the Audi SQ5 TDI and SQ5 TDI exclusive concept will be made available in Germany starting early next year.
