The recall hasn’t extended to cars in the U.S. yet, but Transport Canada, similar to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, is reporting a flaw in the power steering high pressure line. On affected vehicles, that issue could potentially cause a loss of power steering assistance.
If the leaking fluid comes in contact with any of the cars hot components like the engine or exhaust, it could also cause a fire.
Lamborghini will fix the flaw free of charge through dealer service departments by replacing the power steering high pressure line. Owners in the U.S. should expect to see a similar recall very soon.
Update: The recall has just been announced here in the States, where NHTSA says it affects 1,491 cars. For more information, owners can contact Lamborghini at 1-703-364-7042, or the NHTSA safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
