Joining the custom Ford Fusions that are heading to this year’s SEMA Show, will be five custom Ford Focus STs built by Tanner Foust Racing, Bojix Design, M&J Enterprise, Galpin Auto Sports and Steeda Autosports.
World-record holder and X-Games Gold medalist Tanner Foust has been successfully racing Ford vehicles for the past few years. Having quite a bit of knowledge on what it takes to make the ultimate sports car, Foust aimed to build a competent weekend track/canyon warrior that was comfortable enough to endure a Southern California commute. Performance comes from an air intake and MagnaFlow exhaust while fully-adjustable front and rear suspension adds flexibility to customize the handling. A custom body kit was added to enhance the aesthetics of the Focus ST.
Next up is the Bojix Design Ford Focus ST, which draws a European influence on the American sports car. The exterior features a bright orange paint along with a clean, expressive body kit. Along with the custom wheels, Bojix Design adds a big brake kit and a set of coilovers to enhance the ride and stance.
M&J Enterprise focused on performance on its Focus ST, teaming up with Cosworth and Ford Racing to boost performance of the 2.0-liter EcoBoost powerplant by more than 30 percent, putting 330 hp to the ground. With a focus on function over form, Cosworth supplied the wheels and tires while Ford Racing chipped in with its engine and suspension modifications. On the outside, the Focus ST gets a Tangerine Scream finish with subtle graphics to contrast the exterior.
Galpin Auto Sports on the other hand went for a rally-focused Focus. Big brakes are combined with a set of coilover springs to give the vehicle the stopping power and stance it needs. A custom wide body kit also adorns the Focus ST, which has received a custom five-color paint job.
Last, but not least, is the Focus ST offering from famed Mustang tuner Steeda Autosports. Increased performance, improved handling and aggressive looks all come in traditional Steeda form with its G-Trac suspension modifications, a Brembo brake upgrade, and 19-inch custom wheels.
