Last year, Hot Wheels and Chevrolet teamed up to produce a Camaro Concept vehicle that generated enough buzz to qualify it for production.

Thanks to that concept car, Chevy will debut a production Hot Wheels-badged Camaro at the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas later this week. The limited edition 2013 Camaro will actually come in the form of a $6,995 package available on either a V6 or V8 models in coupe or convertible form.

It will be the first time a full-size, production Hot Wheels car will be offered by any automaker and the Camaro will feature a special Kinetic Blue metallic paint scheme accented with red-lined wheels and Hot Wheels badges.

“The project was like a childhood dream,” said David Ross, Chevy design chief for performance and specialty cars. “Every designer on the program has childhood memories of Hot Wheels. They laid the groundwork for their professional lives.”
