One of the world’s most exciting hypercars, the Koenigsegg Agera R, is finally available for purchase in the U.S.
Built with loads and loads of carbon fiber, the Agera R boasts a 2.9-second sprint to 60 mph and 960 hp on pump gas or up to 1,140 hp with E85. Until now, the car wasn’t available for purchase in the U.S., but that’s all changed.
Well heeled buyers may find themselves behind the wheel, though the starting price hovers around $1.5 million and climbs quickly from there with bespoke customization. Recently, the automaker built an “Agera R BLT,” seen below, for a Chinese customer where almost everything was changed.
But that’s the price to pay for exclusivity at such a shocking level. After all, the Agera R holds six production car land speed records including a warp speed run to 186 mph (300 km/h) in 14.53 seconds. But the car doesn’t stop there, it also holds the record for reaching 200 mph and braking to a dead stop — something it managed in 24.96 seconds.
Those incredible figures are possible in no small part because of the car’s ridiculous 2.6 pound-per-horsepower ratio.
