Despite suffering a nasty crash yesterday, the Nissan DeltaWing will run this weekend at Road Atlanta.

The car rolled during practice yesterday after being hit by a GTC Porsche, putting the car’s future in this weekend’s race in jeopardy. It suffered substantial damage, but Nissan says the car will still be able to run.

“Luckily, the guys built a very strong car. While the damage looks to be bad in photographs, the car took the impact quite well,” Gunnar Jeannette, who was driving, said. ”We have all the spare parts to fix it and we have an excellent crew that got to work straight away and had the car stripped down remarkably quickly.”

Footage in the clip below shows how the crash happened from both inside the car and those around it.

This is the second time the DeltaWing suffered a serious crash because of another car. It was pushed off the track by the Toyota TS030 hybrid during the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
