Mercedes’ first AMG variant of the GL-Class luxury SUVs, the GL63 AMG, will cost about $120,000 fully loaded when sales start next year.
Set to hit the market in the first quarter of 2013, the car’s weight and fuel economy are still unreleased, but it’s biturbo 5.5-liter V8 will make 550 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque through a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Of course, it gets full AMG treatment with the appropriate badging, 21-inch AMG wheels, larger air intakes and high-gloss black louvers around the grille. Quad chrome tailpipes, LED daytime running rights and loads of chrome also help spiff up the package.
That price is almost double the base GL-Class, which starts at $63,305. Complete pricing information should be available soon given how close the car is to release.
