The upcoming 2014 Ford Fiesta got a facelift to fit in with the rest of the Ford family, and now the small car is going to offer the MyFord Touch infotainment system.
Although MyFord Touch has received some negative coverage in the media, Ford claims that internal data shows that new vehicles purchased with the system exceed expectations.
The Fiesta gets a 6.5-inch color touch screen mounted in the center stack to incorporate MyFord Touch. Other advancements given to the infotainment system include simplified voice recognition, which requires the driver to say less words to activate different voice commands, and simplified navigation controls, making it easier to input destinations into the nav system.
“Take rates for MyFord Touch on new vehicle orders, such as the 2013 Escape and Fusion, continue to outpace our internal projections. We expect the same trend for Fiesta,” said Michelle Moody, Ford cross-vehicle marketing manager.
