Britax Recalling 55,455 Child Seats for Choking Hazard

Child car-seat company Britax has initiated a voluntary recall for about 55,455 child car seats, saying that there are pieces which children can bite off and choke on.

The models affected are the Boulevard 70 G3, Advocate 70 G3, and Pavilion 70 G3. This specific seats were installed with soft, pliable material around the child’s head meant for added comfort. Three customers have reported that their children have bitten into the material, taken a chunk out of it, and choked on the pieces.

Britax is providing customers with replacement padding which is made from firmer material, and advising customers to remove the existing padding immediately, and use the seat without it until the replacement pads show up.
