Contest to Name the ALMS Grand-Am Merger Opens

It’s a chance to make your mark on racing history and to witness the whole thing in person.

A contest to name the series borne from the merger between ALMS and Grand-Am road racing opened today. Any legal resident of the continental U.S. can enter the contest by submitting a name, explanation and address and the winner will get to attend either the 51st Rolex 24 at Daytona or the 61st Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida.

Of course, the contest is riddled with a list of rules longer than the Daytona race’s ridiculous name. Naughty language might be funny, but there won’t be any blue humor in the race name. The winner will be picked by a judging panel selected by ISCAR, Grand-Am and ALMS.

Submissions will be graded based 40 percent on how well it supports and relates to sports car road racing, 35 percent on how “premium it is in nature,”  25 percent on how distinctive it is.

You can enter submissions by clicking here, where the complete rules can also be found.
