Buick has been working at re-defining its brand image to attract a more youthful age group, and now the brand may be considering a redesign for its logo.

Mark Reuss, GM’s North American president told a group of journalists that they are considering giving the Buick badge a new look, though he did not reveal exactly what will be changed. Past Buick logos have used a hawk, and a rich-looking man walking on top of the earth.

The reinvigorating of the Buick brand may be driving the need for a new logo, but it may also be Buick’s influence in China. Buick sales are still increasing in the Chinese market, especially amongst upscale Chinese consumers. This could be fueling the need for a new logo, to further increase the luxury styling of the brand.
