Sexier than its coupe sibling, the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster was just unveiled today to confirm what most had already guessed.
Passengers will be able to enjoy the Italian exotic with sunshine on their shoulders courtesy of two removable hardtop pieces which weight about 13 lbs each and stow in the front luggage compartment. If what the company says is true, the car will also run from 0-62 mph in three seconds and reach a top speed of 217 mph.
Of course, driving with the top down means more than just extra fun. The engineers at Lamborghini also modified the b pillar to engage an automatic protection system during a rollover crash and to support the removable top.
There’s also a power rear windshield that influences how much wind whips through the car and helps keep the 6.5-liter V12 screamer from deafening the driver and passenger.
Lamborghini already opened the order books, so anyone with the means may make necessary arrangements for delivery. U.S. pricing wasn’t released, but the car costs 300,000 euros which translates to just over $381,000.
