AMG has always strived to find the perfect blend between performance and luxury, and the Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG is a perfect testament to that mantra.

Shown off at the 2012 LA Auto Show, the GL63 AMG is one of the only seven-passenger vehicles in the world that can hit 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. Powered by a 5.5-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine, the GL63 battles its SUV weight with 550 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque.

The German automaker also announced pricing on its luxurious SUV, which will start at $116,925. It’s the first AMG variant for the Mercedes GL family and features 21-inch wheels, larger air intakes, high-gloss black louvers around the grille, quad-chrome exhaust tips, LED daytime running lights, and plenty of chrome inside and out.

Its price tag might startle some interested buyers though; the GL63 AMG is almost double that of the base GL-Class model which starts at $63,305. Of course that doesn’t give you the fun of 550 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque.
