Chevrolet is set to unveil its newest generation of half-ton pickups to the world on Thursday, and today the brand released a foggy image of the truck to drum up a little excitement.
Chevy has already teased the truck more than once, revealing new HID headlights and a new modern look. GM has confirmed that a new-generation of V8 small block engines will be offered, which will utilize direct injection. For a smaller engine, a 3.6-liter V6 with up to 320 hp is apparently in the lineup, though not powertrain details are concrete. An eight-speed automatic transmission is also said to be in the works, which should help the truck compete in the fuel efficiency department.
To try and compete in the luxury truck segment, which Chevy has been absent in up until now, a new trim level known as “High Country” is being introduced in the new Silverado and Sierra.
The new GM trucks will be unveiled fully on Thursday, and AutoGuide will be there covering the event live.
