As “car of the year” awards are doled out like Halloween candy, several cars filtered to the top as the most researched new cars on AutoGuide.com this week.
First: the 2013 Ford Fusion. It’s no surprise that the 2013 Ford Fusion is getting attention given its redesign for this year that included borrowing heavily from Aston Martin for styling. The car is already gathering armfuls of accolades even though it’s barely into its life-cycle. While many people seem to be impressed with the car, it’s important to keep in mind that Ford also issued a recall for it and the 2013 Escape which also made the list this week for being a potential fire risk with the 1.6-liter engine.
Less of a headline grabber, the 2013 Buick Regal was also a popular search this week. It comes in a variety of trim levels with varying power to match. The base four cylinder engine makes 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque, while the top-trip Regal GS offers 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
Honda’s small crossover was also popularly researched this week. For 2013 it costs $22,695 which is a $200 price increase over the 2012 model year.
Finally, the Chevrolet Camaro rounded off the list this week. If you value raw power over most other characteristics then the Camaro is the car for you. Little changes for 2013, but it ditches the outdated stereo head unit and the rear-view mirror also changes to a frameless unit.
