3. Ferrari F40
The Ferrari F40 is the first modern era supercar and looks it.
Distinctively a design of its times, the shape of the F40 is also timeless.
With a body made of carbon fiber and Kevlar, and even using carbon fiber composite for the structure, it’s essentially a road-going race car and has an engine to match. With a high-revving V8 displacing just 2.9-liters, it also uses two turbochargers to deliver 471 hp and pre-dates the era of sequential gearboxes, so it’s a classic 5-speed manual.
A car on my bucket list of drives, I’ve been told by those who have that it’s one of the most pure driving experiences ever engineered.
With exactly 1315 F40s ever made, this is certain to be one of the most collected and revered Ferraris, and cars, of all time.
